"Look Around" -the illustrated children's book

"LOOK AROUND" is an illustrated children's book that was made for the children in and around the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research(JIPMER) Medical College Hospital, Puducherry, India. 

In 2022, a team of intern physicians in JIPMER wrote and illustrated "Look Around"  to help address the lack of access to appropriate reading material for children in the Puducherry community. The book consists of culturally relatable pictures and words based on everyday scenes from rural Indian life. With the support of the medical college, hundreds of copies of the book were printed and distributed to children in and around the JIPMER hospital.

"Look Around" has now been distributed to children in different states of India and outside the country as well.

The same team of physicians that designed the book, with the help of the JIPMER Social Service Committee(SSC), continues to work on improving the book, translating it to different regional languages, and distributing "Look Around" to disadvantaged children.

The team is also working on incorporating sound and animations into the e-copy of the book. 

"Look Around" was written and illustrated by: 

George Davis Cheerotha, Adeeb Ansari, Deepranjan Bharti, Rahul Pradip and Gahan Reddy.
