Is the 20-20-20 rule for your eyes actually useful?

Image
In medical school, I remember learning the 20-20-20 rule related to eye reducing eye strain while using screens. The rule is basically: every 20 minutes, shift your eyes to look at an object at least 20 feet away, for at least 20 seconds.  (while you are using screens). I wanted to look at the evidence on the benefits of this rule. Here are some articles we found:   1.  Computers, digital devices, and eye strain.    2.  20-20-20 rule are these numbers really justified From these articles it appears that this rule is not very effective. I wonder if we can alter this rule to make it more effective and I wonder if we can tweak this rule also to help us control our screen time.I believe eye strain and screen usage are issues we are going to have really address moving forward.

The importance of the color green!🌲🌲🍀🌳

Image
There are some studies we came across about the effect of seeing the colour green. On our brain and physiology not so sure how strong the evidence will link the studies here and see what we can find out. I believe the premise of these studies that green being the natural colour of many plants and foliage may have an evolutionary relationship with our human physiology and psychology  Anyway we will see what we can find out and what is really evidence based or not> It may a possible harmless intervention we can start using for anxiety and basic feelings of safety and well being?  A little bit more of green may help you and the environment as well. 1.  Foliage colors improve relaxation and emotional status of university students from different countries 2.
